An audio element can be added to Phosforest creating a fully immersive environment, allowing visitors to hear the lighting’s patterns, movements, and colors that bring Phosforest to life. GlowFidelity Internet Radio is a technology developed to create a unique and new audio-visual experience for park visitors.
There is no need to acquire sound permits to create traveling sound to the surrounding residence or disrupt wildlife as there are no speakers on-site. Instead park visitors will find QR codes and a Website URL posted in the area they can scan with their phone to access Phosforest’s GlowFidelity audio station. As each phone receives the signal at the same time as the light the audio is synced to create group or private experiences.
With the goal to not overshadow the park's landscape, rather aim instead to enhance the natural beauty the soundtrack will consist of nature soundscapes, international sonography, binaural-beats, and meditative audio pieces. All samples and tracks are licensed or within the Creative Commons Domain. Sample audio can be heard here.
All planned audio soundscapes use 3D-Stereo-Sound and Binaural-Beats. Each QR code sign and the GlowFidelity webpage will encourage use of headphones for the ultimate listening experience. Also as visitors might want to simply enjoy the park's natural sound, this may help sway participants to not use their speaker phones. Cheap headphones (provided and branded with SFPA as a souvenir) can potentially be provided free at select events and local museums, or coin operated egg-prize machines can be installed on-site.
For special events and guest audio performances at Phosforest scheduled and funded by SFPA that include Live-Music there are 2 Options. The LEDs can react in real-time using a microphone or AUX wired input with permitted speakers on site, but while it can be broadcasted on GlowFidelity for anyone in the world to hear, due to the delay to phones, audio will not sync in time to the LEDs. But an on-site DJ, or remote location performer, can stream onto GlowFidelity so phones, LEDs, and speakers sync simultaneously so almost-live performances can be achieved. Pre-Recorded tracks can also simply be queued to GlowFidelity’s playlist.
