I ✈ OAK is a Neon sculpture for the Port of Oakland, Sponsors of the 2022 Autumn Lights Festival at the Gardens of Lake Merritt. Each hand made Neon piece is framed in the window of the recycled fuselage of an original American Airlines N693AA Boeing 757 aircraft. The illuminated glass tubes use traditional non-phosphor coated glass, with the blue illumination of the letters created with Mercury Vapor gas, and the plane created using Neon gas, matching the retro style of this 1993 aircraft.
