The Pulse Jelly is inspired by the alien like bioluminescent jellyfish found in the deep seas. It's tentacles and grappling arm is made of 210ft of Electro Luminescent Wire. The coiled framed transparent metal body houses and off balance rotating motor.  The motor and wire are connected to speed controls allowing you to interact with the Pulse Jelly by controlling the speed of the motor and strobe rate of it's tentacles. The body is not free-spinning, so when the motor is turned on the off balance motor causes the  Pulse Jelly to sway, the centripetal force then causes it to spin causing the tentacles to open, and finally the tension of its suspension cable causes it to stop spinning and close. The off balance motor causes the entire piece to vibrate and shake at a frequency based on the set motor controller speed. The frequency of the strobe rate of the wire tentacles can also be set so that while it is shaking and trashing, set at the right strobe rate it can appear is gently swaying in slow motion as through it is weightlessly swimming in water.
